Selection process for Master’s and Doctorate in Civil Engineering 2026-1
The Graduate Program in Civil Engineering (PPGEC) at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) is accepting applications for the Master’s and Doctoral programs, with admission in the first quarter of 2026 (approximately March 2026).
Registration is free and must be submitted through the Graduate Academic Control Office (CAPG) by October 5th.
A total of 36 positions will be offered for the Master’s program and 33 for the Doctoral program.
With a score of 6 in the evaluation by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), the PPGEC doctoral program addresses research areas such as Civil Construction, Structures, Infrastructure, and Geotechnics. In total, 36 Master’s and 33 Doctoral positions will be offered.
Regarding the affirmative action policy, the following proportions will be followed:

Of the 36 Master’s positions, 8 will be reserved for Black and Indigenous candidates and 3 for people with disabilities (PwD).

Of the 33 Doctoral positions, 7 will be reserved for Black and Indigenous candidates and 3 for PwD.
Requirements
-
Master’s Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Exact Sciences (minimum workload of 3,200 hours).

Doctorate: Master’s degree from a CAPES-accredited graduate program (grade 3 or higher).
The final selection results will be announced on December 12, 2025, and those selected will enter the doctoral program around March 2026.
